Max Simons was a member of LMC class 1. After he retired he returned to Peru. His first project was raising money for the fire house trailer, that the Peru Fire Department uses to teach elementary students how to get out of a burning house. He then took on Habitat for Humanity and was President when he passed away. He received the first LMC leadership award posthumously, then it was named after him.
